"I was born in Omaha, Nebraska on the November evening of the 9th. We lived in a modest suburban home. A white cottage that resembled a cracker box and housed six children, a devoted and spiritual mother and an alcoholic father. I am the child that made the dreams of going to college become a reality, at a young age.

Receiving a fine arts scholarship, from a small catholic college, I went on to earn a bachelor's degree in fine art and education. I have taken many graduate courses and professional workshops since. But, nothing has influenced me as much as my family.

My grandmother was a southern lady from Shreveport, Louisiana and had more character than I have ever seen in ten persons added together. My grandfather was of Irish decent and he was a graceful, quiet and spiritual man, open to different paths of learning. I remember then both playing their Oboe and Bass Clarinet on Sunday nights and I loved to hear them talk of my ancestors and their past. My mother was another great influence. She was a woman with pride and grace that helped me to develop into the spiritual person I am today"
